Posted on Sep 01, 2015 at 0:00 AM
On Saturday, August 1, 2015, ESG partnered with the City of Waycross, Dr. Rivers Family Pharmacy, and local volunteers to host a back-to-school supply drive for kids and their families at Ware County High School. Over 500 citizens attended the event, and ESG donated over 300 backpacks filled with various school supplies. Local volunteers also donated food and drinks. Several barbers were on-site to provide free haircuts, and the local pharmacy donated various toiletries and distributed health and wellness information. ESG/Waycross project team member Lee Hunt volunteered alongside City staff and other volunteers to make sure the students were ready for school.
“The City and its citizens really appreciate ESG’s support for our school supply drive. The feedback I’ve received from the kids and parents is very positive and this event has a tremendous impact on our community. If it wasn’t for ESG’s generosity, then many families would not be in a position to provide school supplies for their children,” commented Raphel Maddox, City Manager for City of Waycross.
“This marks our third year supporting the City of Waycross with its annual back-to-school supply drive. I would like to thank ESG/Waycross Associate Lee Hunt for participating in this important event. I would also like to thank ESG/ Waycross Project Manager, Larry Yockachonis, and ESG Associate Marsha Bryson for gathering additional school supplies to fill over 300 backpacks,” commented Tony Johnson, ESG Vice President, Community and Government Affairs.
