Posted on Sep 01, 2015 at 0:00 AM
ESG recently partnered with the City of Douglas, Kids Zone and local volunteers to host a back-to-school supply drive for kids and their families at Roundtree Park in Douglas. Over 200 citizens attended the event, and ESG donated over 300 backpacks filled with various school supplies. Local volunteers donated food and drinks, while Commissioner Richard Hutchinson and ESG/Douglas Project Manager Kevin Davis handed out school supplies to the kids.
“ESG’s support for our back-to-school supply drive has had a profound impact on the kids and their families. I received a lot of positive comments from the parents, especially the single-parent families. Many of these single-parent households are under financial constraints, and ESG’s donation enables these families to use their limited financial resources in other critical areas,” commented City of Douglas Commissioner Richard Hutchinson.
“I would like to thank our Douglas Project Manager, Kevin Davis, for participating in this important community event. I would also like to thank our Waycross Project Manager, Larry Yockachonis, and ESG Associate Marsha Bryson for gathering various school supplies to fill over 300 backpacks. This event was a success because of teamwork,” commented Tony Johnson, ESG Vice President, Community and Government Affairs.
