On Saturday, May 8, cyclists from across the state of Georgia will be in Macon to participate in the 4th Annual Journey for Autism Century Ride. ESG Operations, Inc. is proud to partner with Central Georgia Autism in hosting this year’s event.

The 4th Annual Journey for Autism begins at Sandy Beach Park on Lake Tobesofkee 8:00 a.m. This event is for the whole family and includes food, a 1 mile Fun Ride for kids, and a bike giveaway by Bike Tech of Macon. Cyclists choose from four course routes—22 miles, 33 miles, 66 miles or 100 miles. Routes wind throughout the outskirts of Lake Tobesofkee, covering three counties.

All proceeds from this annual event benefit Central Georgia Autism’s scholarship program, workshops and family events. Central Georgia Autism scholarships provide any type of medical treatment, therapies, specialized camps and iPad communication for children diagnosed with autism. Georgia is one of 13 states without mandated insurance coverage for autism and the funds raised each year through the Journey for Autism greatly impact families.

“The Journey for Autism ride connects our community to be the bridge of resources for families impacted in central Georgia with autism. In four years, the ride has funded scholarships for children to receive therapy and or services needed, conferences, and workshops. The amazing relationship that Central Georgia Autism and ESG Operations have has enabled this one-of-a-kind cycling event to come to Macon, GA to serve many in need. For that, we are very grateful for a company like ESG Operations and their genuine goodness of partnering with us on this journey we call autism,” stated Janet Ward, co-founder of Central Georgia Autism.

“ESG Operations, Inc. is tremendously honored to be the lead sponsor for this year’s Journey for Autism. Over the past four years with the proceeds from this annual event, Central Georgia Autism has provided close to $50,000 in scholarships for children and families affected by autism We look forward to joining with 22 other sponsors from the Macon area in being a part of this weekend’s Journey for Autism,” added John Eddlemon, ESG Senior Vice President and Partner.
