The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce and the Macon Economic Development Commission (MEDC) has selected ESG Operations, Inc. as the 2017 Business of the Year. The award was presented at the annual “Salute to Business” Awards Luncheon and Ceremony held on October 19, 2017, at the Armory Ballroom in Macon, and accepted by ESG co-founder and principal Dan Groselle.
Each year the Chamber and the MEDC recognize leading businesses and industries in Macon which meet a selected criteria. A selection committee comprised of local business leaders carefully evaluates all nominees and selects the final award recipients. Evaluation criteria for the Business of the Year award include the company’s economic impact to Middle Georgia, corporate citizenship, culture and unique workplace environment, components that make the business stand out among other businesses, and total impact in educational, civic and charitable endeavors.
“ESG is grateful to be recognized for this significant honor. We appreciate the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Commission including ESG among this year’s award recipients,” commented John Eddlemon, ESG Senior Vice President and Partner.
Additionally, the Business of the Year award recipient is a company with 26 or more employees and has been operating for a minimum of five years. ESG currently employs close to 700 full-time employees and has been in the utility operations and public works management business for 15 years.
“ESG is very proud to be a part of the Macon-Bibb County business community and we are truly honored to have been selected for this prestigious award. Macon’s central location in the state of Georgia has been a key component of ESG’s growth and success over the past 15 years. We express our sincere appreciation to the Chamber and the MEDC for this honor and recognition,” expressed co-founders Dan Groselle and Clay Sykes.
