ESG Operations is currently seeking a Water Operator in Training to join Vicksburg MS team. As a drinking water treatment operator, you have the important task of ensuring that the water we use for drinking, cooking, and daily activities is clean, safe, and of the highest quality. Water Operators in Training are the “entry level” operator for the operation and maintenance of the water facilities with duties that include operating plant machines and equipment, injecting chemicals to purify water, conducting laboratory test of water and monitoring plant controls, adjusting valves and gates, conducting laboratory testing and maintaining well pump stations as well as the plants. We would ask you to be responsible for the basic cleaning, painting, scrubbing weirs and basins, minor maintenance tasks, and grounds maintenance of water plants and well stations. You would also perform additional housekeeping duties such as cutting grass, cleaning tanks, sweeping & mopping floors, cleaning equipment and various other duties to maintain the aesthetic appearance of the facility.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, additional study preferred
- Must have a valid MS driver’s license
- Must be able to obtain the minimum certification as a Mississippi Water Treatment Plant Operator within one year of hire
- Experience or education related to maintenance and/or chemistry or environment related tasks preferred
