In 2002, J. Clay Sykes and Daniel Groselle founded the ESG family of companies with a clear vision:  to provide unparalleled commitment to our clients, our associates, and to our core beliefs and principles. Because they built the company with no external investment or ownership, the management team has been able to maintain complete control over its operations, maintaining a hands-on, personal relationship with every client/partner. Even with its unprecedented growth, ESG’s foundation and guiding principles have not changed.  ESG is unique with our ability to truly integrate engineering and technology-based solutions tempered by years of real-life operations and maintenance experience, providing operations and maintenance costs savings to its clients, and helping them eliminate personnel challenges and achieve guaranteed regulatory compliance.

Our Present

ESG uses the professional contract operations concept to meet one of the greatest crises facing municipal utilities over the last 20 years—how to maintain services with eroding tax bases and aging infrastructures within an even more demanding regulatory environment.  Larger operations management companies are struggling in the declining economy, but because of our experienced management team and innovative technologies, ESG has continued to grow, and has successfully transitioned multiple utility operations jobs from large companies during this same period. In fact, no other contractor in the industry has successful transitioned more jobs in the past eight years than ESG. We have grown to more than 750 full-time utility management personnel throughout the southeast.
