Responsibilities will include:
The essential function of the position within the organization is to oversee the operations of the Road & Bridge Department.  The position is responsible for staff supervision, training, planning, organizing and supervising of road, bridge and drainage system construction and maintenance, preparing bid specifications and budget requirements, public relations, departmental equipment and supplies, and reporting.  The position develops and implements programs within organizational policies; reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will have at least 10 years’ experience in Public Works Management, Road & Bridge Maintenance, Construction or similar experience. This is a 'hands-on' management job that requires leadership by example. Therefore, experience in the operation of motor graders and other heavy equipment is preferred. Solid skills and experience in business writing, Excel, and other relevant computer programs are essential. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of construction, repair and maintenance of public works facilities, including roadways and bridges a must. Knowledge of the occupational hazards involved and the safety precautions necessary to the safe conduct of heavy manual work and equipment operations are essential.  Knowledge and Skills involving fleet equipment maintenance and conditions assessment. Commercial Driver's License is preferred.
